The West Indies is a large group of islands that separate the Caribbean Sea from the
Atlantic Ocean. They comprise three main island groups:
- Bahamas (north)
- Greater Antilles (central)
- Lesser Antilles (southeast)
Today the West Indies is better know as the
Caribbean.
